A fellow Marin County native, Kim dedicated her life to traditional Chinese medicine practices after experiencing their powerful healing benefits first-hand. After years of working in fast-paced, pressure-filled work environments, she developed chronic symptoms that ranged from fatigue, to stress, back pains, and digestive issues. After experiencing the relief regular acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines brought to her body, Kim decided to take the final step in her healing journey by pursuing a new career path in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Kim practices Traditional Chinese Medicine (or TCM) through acupuncture, Chinese herbs, moxibustion, cupping and Tui Na massage. She has over six years of experience treating patients with all types of conditions and ailments that include chronic and acute pain, migraines, allergies, gastrointestinal issues, arthritis stress, auto-immune disorders, and sleep issues. With a combination of TCM methods, she also treats people who are working through depression and addiction, in addition to those who've suffered strokes or side effects from chemotherapy. Kim also specializes in treating women during pregnancy and menopause, as well as those needing additional support as they undergo In Vitro Fertilization (or IVF).

Acupuncture

Acupuncture consists of hair-fine needles gently placed at specific points on the body. These points are located on various meridians (or channels) that run along different areas of the body. The acupuncture points act as a gateway to control the Qi and vital fluids that run through the meridian systems and to their corresponding organs. By controlling Qi, we are able to rebalance one's overall system, thus taking away pain and unwanted symptoms of imbalance.

Chinese herbal medicine

Like acupuncture, Chinese herbs help to balance and harmonize the body. Herbs consist of dried vegetables, fruits, barks, roots and leaves, and work to heal the body safely and gently. Herbal formulas are carefully crafted by Kim for each individual based on their symptoms and medical history. Herbs are an important addition to acupuncture, because they provide vitality and strength when the body is weak, and calm the mind when we feel overstimulated.

Cupping therapy

Cupping is a lesser-known treatment that is also part of Traditional Chinese Medicine — one that can provide an especially pleasant experience. Cupping involves using small glass cups as suction devices. They're placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion by drawing congested blood, energy or other humors to the surface.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called 'moxa' are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences. Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort.

Tui Na massage

Tui Na is a therapeutic form of massage that has been used in China for more than 5,000 years. Defined as 'the ancient healing art of fingers and strength,' Tui Na involves applying pressure to meridians, acupoints, and groups of muscles and nerves, to remove blockages and work deeply with the positive energy of the body.

I am so pleased with my acupuncture treatments from Kimberly! My sciatica is so much better after just 5 treatments! Getting around pain free! She also helped with my foot cramps. They completely left for 2 months, only one since I started treatments. I especially like the way she listens to my concerns. She adjusts her treatments accordingly. It's been a Godsend. Can't thank her enough. I've never felt more relaxed leaving a professional office!

When I started seeing Kim 3.5 months ago I was feeling completely out of wack. Stress and anxiety levels were high, I was feeling inexplicably sick, my energy was very low, and I just felt completely disconnected from myself. Fast-forward to today, I'm back! Stress and anxiety completely manageable, my energy is back, I have started exercising again, I no longer feel sick - everything just feels more stable and balanced. I have been seeing her for acupuncture every week, and taking the prescribed herbs regularly. I tried acupuncture once before, and was NOT a fan, but Kim has completely changed my mind. She is kind, gentle, thorough, intuitive, and never makes you feel rushed. She checks in regularly, and adjusts her treatments each week as needed. I'll never see anyone else, and recommend her to anyone interested in Chinese Medicine/acupuncture.
